The Quadriceps femoris is the largest muscle in the human body.  It is a knee extensor and a hip flexor,  made up of four separate muscles: three vastus muscles and the rectus femoris. They are locate din the thigh’s anterior compartment, forming the main bulk of the thigh and are one of the most powerful muscles in the body.
