Head

The skull is a bone framework that supports the face and creates a chamber that protects the brain. It is made up of many bones that are formed by intramembranous ossification, and joined by sutures (fibrous joints).

The two sets of bones that make up the skull are the bones of the cranium (which consists of the cranial roof and cranial base) and those of the face .
