The shoulder is completed by four joints, one of which is the sternoclavicular (SC) joint. The joint is situated where the sternum (breastbone) and clavicle (collarbone) meet at the base of the neck.
Accidents involving motor vehicles or involvement in collision sports like football are the two main causes of injuries to the SC joint.
